The basket

What is the Curl Basket?
It's a handwoven cotton rope basket that works as a cat bed and a scratcher in one. It has a raised rim with two cat-ear peaks and a rope-ball toy on a rope tail.

What is it made of?
It's cotton rope, coiled and stitched into a round bowl.

Which size should I get?

Medium: 15.7" (40 cm) across and about 5.9" (15 cm) tall. For cats up to 7.7 lb.
Large: 18.1" (46 cm) across and about 6.3" (16 cm) tall. For cats up to 16.5 lb, and cats who like to sprawl.

Cats come in all shapes, so for the best fit, measure your cat while she's curled up asleep and pick a basket at least 2" wider. Over 16.5 lb? Large is our biggest size, but it may be snug.

Which colors are there?
Grey, Green and Brown. Each one has a cream body with colored bands. Colors can look slightly different on different screens.

Is it good for kittens and older cats?
The low, open rim is easy to step into. For small kittens, Medium is usually the better fit. Watch young kittens with the rope toy.

Getting your cat to use it

What if my cat won't use it?
A few simple steps help her claim it:

Put it where she already naps or scratches.
Put a worn T-shirt or her blanket inside.
Run your fingers along the rope and swing the rope ball.
Add a pinch of catnip or silvervine, or a treat.
Let her discover it on her own; don't place her in it.

Will she scratch it, or just sleep in it?
It's made for both. She naps in it, and when she wakes up and stretches, the rope is right under her paws. Some cats nap in it first and start scratching a little later. Placing it right next to the spot she scratches now helps her make the switch.

Where should I put it?
Put it where the damage is or where she already naps: next to the couch arm, at the end of your bed, or on her favorite chair. Avoid quiet corners she never visits.

I have more than one cat. Will they share?
Some cats happily share. Others claim it as their own spot, so if your cats compete for sleeping spots, get one basket for each cat.

Care and safety

How do I clean it?
Shake out fur or use a lint roller. For spots, use a damp cloth with mild soap and cool water, then let it air dry fully before your cat uses it again.

Does it smell?
New things can smell strange to a cat. Let it air out for a day. Then put a worn T-shirt inside, so it smells like you.

How do I set it up when it arrives?
We pack it snugly to keep it safe in transit. Press the walls out by hand and let it settle into shape. If it doesn't hold its shape, send us a photo and we'll make it right.

Is the rope toy safe?
It's a rope ball on a rope tail, made for batting and play. Like any toy, check it now and then for loose threads, and remove it if your cat likes to chew rope.

How long does shipping take?
Shipping is free on every order. Orders ship in 1–3 business days. US orders usually arrive 9–15 days after that. Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico: up to 4 weeks.

Our partner warehouse in China.

How do I track my order?
You get a tracking link by email as soon as your order ships.

Where do you ship?
We ship across the United States. Outside the US, checkout shows whether we deliver to your address.

Can I change or cancel my order?
Yes, until it ships. Message us through our contact page with your order number as soon as you can.

Returns and guarantee

What is the 50-day guarantee?
If the basket doesn't work out for your cat, you can get a refund within 50 days of delivery, and you keep the basket. It covers a cat who still won't use it after a fair try, and quality problems like loose stitching or damage. Some cats take a few weeks to claim a new spot, so please try the tips above first. Then message us with your order number and 2 photos of the basket. Full details are in our refund policy.

My basket arrived damaged or wrong. What now?
Send us a photo and your order number within 50 days of delivery. We'll send a replacement or give you a full refund.

How long does a refund take?
Once we approve it, we send the refund to your original payment method. Your bank may take 5–10 business days to show it.
