Why I started Purrloom
Hi, I'm Liron.
A few years ago, I said goodbye to my beloved cat, Looma.
If you've ever lost a pet, you know the quiet that comes after. The empty spot on the couch. The habit of looking for her when you walk into a room. And the questions that don't really go away. For me, it was always the same one: what could I have done to make her life better?
Not the big things. The small, everyday ones. Did she have a place that was truly hers? Somewhere she felt safe enough to stretch out, scratch, play and fall asleep, right next to the people who loved her?
I couldn't stop thinking about it. So I started learning how indoor cats really live. And the more I learned, the more it made sense. Cats nap, wake up, stretch and scratch, often all in the same spot. That's why so many of them end up on the arm of the couch, or curled up in the box the new bed came in. They're not being difficult. They're looking for one place that feels like theirs, close to us.
I can't go back and give that to Looma. But I can help other cats find it, and help the people who love them stop wondering if they're doing enough.
That's why I opened Purrloom.
I went looking for something simple and honest: one spot that's a bed, a scratcher and a little playground in one. I found it in this basket. Handwoven cotton rope to grip and pull. Walls to lean on. A rope-ball toy on a rope tail. And a shape you'll be happy to leave out in your living room, right where your cat wants to be.
Every Curl Basket is my small thank-you to Looma, and a chance for your cat to have the spot I wish I'd found sooner.
I know buying something online for your cat is a gamble. Cats choose; we don't. So if it doesn't work out for yours, you have 50 days to get your money back, and you keep the basket.
And if you ever have a question, or just want to tell me about your cat, write to me. I read every message.
With love,
Liron, founder of Purrloom
What we believe about indoor cats
- Scratching isn't bad behavior. It's how cats stretch, care for their claws and leave their scent from their paws. The goal isn't to stop it. It's to give her a better place to do it.
- Cats choose. We don't. You can't force a cat into a bed. You can put the right thing in the right spot and let her come to it.
- Cat things can be beautiful. You shouldn't have to choose between a happy cat and a living room you're proud of.
- Honesty beats hype. We tell you what it is, how it's made and when it ships, and we back it with a 50-day money-back guarantee.
How the basket is made
Each Curl Basket is handwoven from cotton rope. The rope is coiled round by round into a deep bowl, stitched together, and finished with two cat-ear peaks on the rim and a rope-ball toy on a rope tail.
It comes in Grey, Green and Brown, in two sizes: Medium, 15.7" (40 cm) across, and Large, 18.1" (46 cm) across. The rope gives her something to grip and pull. The walls give her something to lean on. The shape gives you something you'll want to leave out.
Our promise
- 50 days to decide. If it doesn't work out for your cat, get a refund within 50 days. You keep the basket.
- Honest delivery times. We tell you when it ships and when it should arrive, and we send tracking for every order.
